Gaming brings a whole new level to violence
Muhannad El-Asad
Gaming these days is going too far, there has been multiple deaths from gaming, some people take gaming too far, and they learn from the violence of the game, all the blood, guns, and more ,They learn from it, and they sometimes even do it.
I’m gonna talk about how and why i’m perilous. First, it has too much violence for kids, and you’re going to hear from me, multiple evidence on why it’s too violent. Also i’m going to talk about how gaming in general is bad.
A big story about gaming violence is from this mother that goes by Alexandra Tobias who killed her 3 year old(Dylan Lee Edmondson), due to Farmville. She shook him so hard, hard enough for him to hit his head and die. This shows that gamers, even Farmville gamers, take gaming way too seriously. (death)
People learn bad things from video games. Yes video games are fun and amusing but it has to learn its limits to teach children violence. According to American Academy of Child Psychology video games make children more violent, and aggressive.
Their was a mass shooting in Washington, D.C. in which an angry, mentally-ill young man shot and killed a dozen of his fellow citizens. They say he has done this due to the violent video games. The shooter plays zombie killing games, he plays violent games and made it come to real life.
Another example of a young teenager showing violence from video games is, Dinh The Dan who is 13 years old who strangled and killed an 81 year old man that’s name is Mai Thi Mau, in order to get money for video games. His punishment was being sent to camp, to improve his behaviour. As I said earlier violent video games make you violent.
A quote by Herb Kohl who is an American politician said: “We cannot and will not ban the creation of violent video games. But, we can prevent the distribution of these disturbing games to children, where their effects can be negative”. So video games can be negative to children.
Not only videogames are violent, but also games in real life, like tag games and hide and seek. How are they violent? All the pushing shoving and running, it might hurt someone. So it shows games have been violent since the old times, before video games. An elementary school in British Columbia, has banned tag games so their students wouldn't get hurt.
So as you read video game violence is a big thing. Games not only teach kids violence but also it teaches them violent and aggressive thoughts. This might not apply to other kids, but it applies to some kids. So violence should stop or become less on video games.
