Remember that memory you put online that was really embarrassing. Well it’s gonna stay in the internet forever. Everything that you put on the internet, stays in the internet! You have to be careful on what you put on the internet. All of this is called Digital Footprint.
What is Digital Footprint, and it’s consequences? Well if you put a bad thing on the internet it will stay there forever, and if you want you want to take it out, you can’t, because it’s too late. According to InternetSociety everything you put stays All those +1s, Retweets, and Facebook comments (even private ones) leave a record. Also Sites often introduce new policies and settings that increase the visibility of your data.
What does Digital Footprint actually mean? A digital footprint is the word used to describe the trail, traces or "footprints" that people leave online. So people can trace you from your Digital Footprint. Also be careful on what you put online, because it might not only harm you, but also your friends if you put bad bad things. It might even ruin your future.

Stop and think about any content before you post or send. 2. Treat others online as you would like to be treated. 3. Set your profile to private and check every now and then to make sure the settings haven’t changed. So make sure your online reputation and footprint are good.
So you should be careful with your digital footprint and make sure that your reputation is good. Why? Because big companies will look at your private messages and pictures. future employers will be looking at applicants’ online footprints, So be careful.
